  Look up Domain Name

For those individuals and business establishments which plan to put up a domain or website, the first step in setting up a website to lookup domain name. This is considered to be one of the most crucial steps in website making because the domain name could greatly affect the outcome of a business venture. The domain name is usually what a surfer remembers first before linking in a particular website whether its for personal or business purposes.

Usually, there are registrars or sites to go to in looking up domain names. The process is fairly easy; all that needs to be done is to input the potential domain and their suffixes (.com, .org, .net, etc.) in the website. After a few seconds, the site can tell if the chosen or preferred domain name is already being used or not by another business entity.

However, looking up domain names in Canada is a whole different scenario. If an individual is interested in putting up a business in Canada or is targeting a Canadian market, he should only go the CIRA (Canadian Internet Registration Authority) website. CIRA took over the ".ca" domains in the year 2000 and all the potential Canadian domains are to be directed to the CIRA website. To check the availability of the ".ca" domain, one can type the name of the domain in the text box found in the CIRA main page. Upon hitting the "GO" button or the enter key, one will be able to see the whole listing of Canadian websites that are related to the preferred domain.
